An Interview With A Small Blogger

I was emailed recently about being interviewed about blogging and life in general so, naturally, I said yes! As I’m still only a small blogger, I was thrilled about the opportunity and, of course, I decided I would share the interview on here:

How would you describe your personality in one word?

Ahhh, that’s’ really hard! Uhh, charismatic?

Who inspired you to blog?

I don’t remember exactly who was my inspiration, however, I remember finding out about blogging through popular YouTubers who mentioned it in their videos.

What common barriers did you face while achieving 1000 followers?

Finding the time to post! Sometimes time is just not on my side and I’ll end up sat with a mountain of work to do and no blogs posts written! I tend to pre-write now so that I never place myself in that stressful position.

What more are you hoping for from your blog?

Of course I’m hoping to grow, but I don’t like to focus on numbers. Interaction such as comments and emails are always what I strive for!

Your blog title is really interesting, how did you come up with the name?

If I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure I placed a load of random names I liked into a generator and ‘My Life Online’ was what came out of it!

How do you manage your blog and other activities? Do you get stuck?

Pre-writing posts is definitely a saviour! Many of my posts are scheduled so that on especially busy days I can turn my phone off and know that I have still posted. Then I make sure to dedicate an hour or so at night to replying to comments, checking out people’s blogs and reading posts!

In today’s age, everyone tries to be an inspiration to someone – do you think you’re an inspiration to your readers?

I hope so! I’ve had many people tell me they have been inspired by me and lots of people base their blog posts around something I’ve written – I see it as an honour and take it as a huge compliment!

Why did you choose WordPress to blog on?

I love web design and often make websites in my free time, however, I didn’t want to have to pay and so, for me, WordPress seemed ideal as you still get a reasonable amount of freedom with a free plan.

Do you want to explore more of the blogging world?

Of course! I love anything to do with blogging and I’m happy to explore as I go!

Will we see your blog with an individual domain in the future?

Possibly. If I decide to take blogging further than just a hobby, I’d be willing to pay for a custom domain, however, for now I don’t think it’s necessary.

How well do you know your followers?

I’d like to think I know them quite well as a general group. I’ve picked up what posts they enjoy the most over time and I’m starting to cater to what they enjoy to read whilst still keeping to what I enjoy writing. Of course, I don’t have the time to get to know every follower individually, however, I make an effort to reply to every comment and now recognise many of them as individuals.

Finally, what’s your top piece of advice for new bloggers?

Don’t compare yourself to others! It’ll only make you disheartened – you have to remember that everyone grows at different rates! ❤

~Thank you too this blogger for the interview questions!~

Thoughts On An Airplane

Well, I’m sat on an airplane right now so this post seems relevant:

Okay, can I just start with something that’s been going through my head since I got to the airport – why is it spelled ‘airplane’ but pronounced ‘air-o-plane’? Does that make sense? No? Okay
okay that was stupid, in the UK we spell it aeroplane pahaha
If you attached wings to an aero chocolate bar would it become an ‘aero-plane’? Haha I’m so punny….

No miss air hostess lady, I do not have any rubbish…did you have to wake me up to ask that?

Turbulence is weird….why am I willingly sat on something flying through the sky that could fall at any moment? Oh god, why did I say that.

How do planes even work? I mean, it’s basically like a giant car that flies…omg I want to ride in that flying car from Harry Potter. Actually, no I don’t. That looks scary.

What country am I in right now? Wait, I’m not even in a country…I’m in the air.

Okay, this confuses the life out of me…say you take off in the afternoon and arrive in early morning yet the flight was only a few hours, do those lost hours just disappear into a vortex?

What about when you end up landing before you took off?

Flying is time traveling, airplanes are a tardis, a pilot is doctor who, you’re welcome!

I think the planes going to crash, what’s happening! Oh my god I hate turbulence! I can actu- … Nah, I’m just kidding,I’m fine

How many photos of the view out the window is too many? I think I’ve crossed that line…

Ooh the song ‘up and up’ just came on… I should of listened to that as we took off…

What’s the time? Actually i don’t think that question can be answered, we probably pass through a new time zone every half an hour.

Why is it that the higher you go up, the colder it is? I mean, we’re getting closer to the sun so shouldn’t it be warmer? I can clearly see the sun yet there is frost on the outside of my window…what?

Oh my god sunsets are so pretty! Wait, why is the sun setting? It’s like seven? Oh right, I’m not in the U.K anymore… Haha that was stupid…

No, I still don’t have any rubbish..you asked me this a few minutes ago.

Are people watching this plane fly above them right now? That’s so cool! Actually they can’t be, we’re above the clouds…haha oops

Oh my god I just realized I was mouthing the words to the song I’m listening to…through my headphones…

Temporarily thought we were flying over a snowy country…it was clouds

I swear I just saw a strike of lightning I’m actually freaking out. [EDIT: Read more about that here]

Is it just me or does the moon look like half a polo?

I’d love to sit on the wing of an airplane and watch the sunset. Actually, I most definitely do not want to do that, it’s slightly dangerous to say the least.

How come when you’re in a plane you never pass another plane? Yet loads fly at the same time? Ahh, they have trackers to stop that happening don’t they….

Oh my god this plane is so shaky! I can actually see the wings shaking…eek!

What’s the time in Greece? Should I be asleep right now? Am I going to be jet lagged?

Wait…I think I’m going to miss a whole night of sleep…if only someone would tell me whether I should be asleep right now or not!

Ugh stop shaking plane, I’m trying to write! Goodness, have some respect!

I don’t get time zones. What even is the time? Actually, that’s not important right now…I don’t even know what day it is!

Okay so the sun has almost completely set, that means it’s night right? But in what country is it night?

Does the sun set twice as fast when your flying? Because that sun set was awfully short…possibly because we were flying away from the sun.

Nah, I’m in a tardis right now so I’m going to believe that time is traveling in varied degrees of speed. Granted, it probably is because you know, time zones. Maybe I’m not totally off with my doctor who theory?

Part one is completed! Thank you for reading my random rambles, feel free to leave some of your own down below!

The End…

Well, this is it. My very last post…

….of the month (I’m sorry,I used clickbait…again lol)

Daily blogging is awesome, there’s no denying it. Throughout this month, I’ve successfully managed to daily blog, something I never thought would happen!
Sadly, this post marks the end of my daily blogging experience – As much as I’d love to continue it, my god it was stressful.

This is random, but I’m curious, so can you all comment below your favourite blog(s)! I want to know who you guys look forward to reading the most!

I am in complete awe of those of you who daily blog. Sure, I managed 30 days in a row, but only because I dedicated a weekend to prewriting 20 of the posts and then writing the last 10 as I went along. Some posts were written as far in advance as two months before the upload, others, like this one, were written the day before.

Surprisingly, I haven’t emptied my drafts. I continued writing as much as I normally would so I have around 20 unfinished posts stored. Hopefully, that means I’ll actually post regularly, but with exams coming up…ugh, let’s not think about that.

Seriously though, how do some of you manage to post daily?? Maybe I can understand how if say it’s your full time job but to those of you who juggle school or work with it…how?

Okay I’ve no idea what this post even is lol but thanks for reading it if you got this far! Remember to comment below your favourite blogs!

Top 10 Beach Essentials!

If there’s one thing I hate to do on holiday more than anything else, it’s forgetting to bring something with me! What with the stress of last minute packing (which is often experienced by procrastinators like me), the rush to the airport and the awful feeling of ‘I feel like I’m missing something‘, sometimes, forgetting something is inevitable! So today, inspired by tripping.com, in an attempt to help stop the dreaded moment of realisation from ever occurring again, I thought I’d share with you my top essentials for the beach!

Before we start, what are your must-haves for any beach trip? Make sure to comment below! Here are mine:

1. Sunglasses:

You have no idea how many times I’ve stepped onto the golden sand of a foreign beach only to feel my heart drop as I picture my sunglasses, still sat in my suitcase. Sunglasses are a must for the beach, especially when it comes to seeing the pages of a book. Talking of books, that brings me onto my next essential!

2. Reading Material:

Can you picture anything better than relaxing in the warm shade or soaking up the sun, listening to the sound of the birds call and the waves crash, all whilst reading a good book? Reading is a brilliant way to relax and keep yourself occupied!

3. Sun cream:

I cannot preach to you enough about the importance of wearing suncream! Not only is the sun extremely harmful to your skin in the long run, sunburn isn’t fun either: It looks bad, makes your skin peel, and is extremely painful, all the more reason to prevent it and wear suncream! I also recommend a lip balm with SPF to save your lips too!

4. A travel guide:

Now, don’t get me wrong, sitting on the beach is the most relaxing thing ever, but sometimes you just feel the urge to explore! I’d love to travel to America, Florida in particular! If any of you are looking to travel, vacation homes are the perfect option! These gorgeous homes are sat directly by some amazing beaches – honestly, just looking at them makes me want to explore!

5. A hat:

Along with suncream, this too can protect you from the harsh rays of the sun, but alongside that, hats look so cute and summery, especially on the beach! I tend to bring two hats with me, a big floppy hat for photos and walking around, and a cute cap for when I’m in the sea or want to keep my hair out of my face.

6. Headphones or a Bluetooth speaker:

I cannot hit the beach without some way to listen to music! Depending who I’m heading to the beach with, I tend to alter between headphones, for when I’d rather relax, and a speaker, for when I want to dance and sing along to the music. Actually, I might as well just take both!

7. A towel:

Woah, way to point out the obvious, huh? Even if if it the most obvious thing to bring, I have most definitely forgot to bring one with me when going to the beach! Towels are necessary for two obvious reasons: sunbathing and drying off!

8. Phone:

While you may not use your phone much on the beach, it’s definitely one of my essentials! From taking pictures and reading eBooks to listening to music and sharing memories, I always make sure to put my phone in my beach bag! To keep it safe, I tend to bring it in a sealed plastic pocket, that way it’s protected from sand and water!

9.Flip Flops:

Flip flops are the perfect shoes for quickly sliding on if you need to go somewhere when you’re at the beach. Though walking across the sand in them can be extremely difficult, they save your feet from burning on the hot ground so what’s more to love!

10. The Bag:

Last but not least, the bag. You know the one I’m talking about, the big, beach bag ready to be filled with all of your essentials! This, of course, is needed to transport everything too and from the beach, and to keep it organised!

Well, there we have it, my top 10 beach essentials! Remember to comment below your must-have items!
